Perplexed

I walked into Target today to get some Halloween candy in case any kiddies try to roll down S. Wash looking for candy. I noticed that Fat Tire and Breckenridge have put out their Winter Ales.

Ok, I thought. If it has snowed in the last 2 weeks you should be able to have a Winter ale.

But then I saw the Christmas section. A whole section. Not only has Thanksgiving not yet arrived, today is Halloween! This makes no sense what so ever. How can you justify Christmas trees next to Halloween crap.

I should not have a bag of Halloween candy in my hand and be able to see anything Christmas related.

Sigh, why couldn't I have been born in the 50's?

Things I am not....

A pumpkin carver. Cam bought pumpkins for he and I to carve tonight. And after seeing the amazing creations on the food network, I felt inspired. But after 20 minutes on the stoop carvin' up a fury, this was my result:

Cam had better luck:

Oh well. I guess I'll just cross pumpkin carver off the lists of potential jobs. Too bad, I hear it's very lucrative and there is a lot of year round business.*

Here Comes Fall!!!!

I have always loved fall. The weather is a welcome change from the sweltering heat in Virginia. This summer I didnt mind the heat because it was so dry that it was manageable for us Virginians here in Colorado. But just as the calender page turned to October, so did the weather to fall. And it feels amazing. Smelled my first fire of the season. I've been having to rock the penquin pj's around the house. And what makes this fall even better, it will snow on or before Halloween.

Awesome.
