Alaska

Watching CNN as they discuss Sarah Palin and Alaska. Interesting fact:

"The Little Diomede natives are allowed to pay their taxes to the Internal Revenue Service in ivory collected from walrus hunts, being the only people in the United States that are allowed to pay taxes with something besides U.S. currency."

I would like to pay my taxes next year in baseball cards.

Paddy Mac's Berfday!

Paddy Mac is turning 3 today so Happy Birthday lil Buddy! Wish I was sitting on the deck watching the sunset at the Weather Watchers Official Headquarters, you sipping on a juice box, your pops and I drinking/living the high life. Here are some of my favorite P-mac pics.

Rubik's Cube

Saw a guy on the train yesterday complete Rubik's Cube. He did it while talking to another person and looking out the window.

New goal. Challenge him to a Cube-off on the train.

Broncos

Pops rolled into town for my berfday. Sigh, 24. As Jono Howard says, "your mid-twenties". Great birthday present have pops see my new hood and whatnot. I showed him Union Station, the 16th St. Mall, we even went to Rockmount. Rockmount is famous for outfitting the likes of John Wayne, Eric Clapton, Tom Hanks, Clark Gable, Bob Dylan, and the Boss. Really cool store. Full of western wear. Been around forever. After that pops took me to a cajun restaurant called Gumbo, where I can honestly say I had one of the best meals of my life. I had the Chicken Dixie, stuffed with creamed spinach, wrapped with apple wood smoked bacon and topped with sautéed crabmeat. Served over herb buerre blanc sauce. As we all know, anything is better wrapped in bacon. So good.

Sunday pops and I went to the Broncos game. And what a game it was. We had seats in the nosebleed section, but then moved down to the 4th row on the 5 yard line, perfect for the final minutes of the game. We were right there as Eddie Royal (NOVA baby) caught the winning touchdown and 2pt conversion. I will never cheat on my Redskins, but it is exciting living in a city that has a team. We are 3 train stops away from the stadium. How can you not cheer for them?

Moutain Biking

Yesterday Daniel, Cameron, and myself went to Waterton Canyon to do some mountain biking. Cameron got a new bike and the lil guy was excited about trying it out. My bike however, was not new. In fact the back brakes didn't exactly work. I was completely unprepared for the trail that involved rocks, dirt, stumps, roots, steep climbs and even steeper falls. The views were amazing, when I wasn't staring at the ground praying I wouldn't crash. It was the most intense thing I have ever done. I was winded, I am bruised, and had to walk at times. We biked about 20 miles so including last weeks bike trip all over the city I'm averaging close to 25 miles a week. Pretty good for someone who stopped riding his bike at 15 because he didnt want to wear a helmet. After I get some funds I am definately buying a decent moutain bike. Below is a video of a bear we saw on the way into the trail. Too bad I didn't get a video of Daniel flying down a hill and rolling 10 times. Sigh, oh well.

Quandary

How long can I get away with the....."gee, uh...i just moved here, sorry" response when someone asks me where a street, place, area of town, my house is etc.?
